Time to Create: Hands-On Explorations in Process Art for Young Children

I am an elementary art teacher and we are starting to teach PreK students this upcoming year. I purchased this book to help me become more familiar with process art and it is AMAZING. This is a very valuable resource that I will use to help me not only teach my new-coming four-year-old students, but also my fellow art teachers about process art. Thank you for such a wonderful resource!!!

I just got this book and it looks like it is fun. It has some cute, fun ideas in it.

My staff was wed to product art, also known as "cookie-cutter" art because every child makes the same project. This book is a wonderful explanation of process art and its relationship to true creativity. Teachers have already begun switching over to teaching how-to instead of what-to. Real illustrations of real children, well-formatted, the theory not overly print-dense--worth every penny.

I love this book. I am a teacher of four and five year olds and I use this book often.

I can not recommend this book highly enough. You will not find any macaroni art projects in this book. This book is about children exploring art and art materials, learning about different art materials and techniques, and learning to express their own creativity through their own process-directed art experience. This is what our children need; not the same print-out of a sheep to cover in cotton wool balls. Our children need to be given the freedom to explore and create art in their own way and this wonderful book is jam-packed with ideas to help parents and educators create meaningful art experiences for children. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is book is full of lots of information and why as well as how which is relevant to parents and educators, but what I love most is the really 'doable' ideas and activities... so much inspiration!

I bought this book for use with my 2 young daughters. It has so many super ideas for use with young children requiring very little cost in terms of materials. I can't wait to try them all out. If you want your children to learn to enjoy art, be creative and develop their own ideas, then this is a fantastic book. I also work with young children and would thoroughly recommend this for all early childhood educators as well.

Was given to me as a Christmas present. Very pleased with the content. Lots if inspiring ideas. Would highly recommend to any parent.

This book is one of the most fantastic books i have had the pleasure of reading. It has many great ideas for creating art with children, and reminds us why the process of art is more important than the product.
