provides pair of internal usb2
Used with combo Wi-Fi / Bluetooth card. The Bluetooth required a USB 2 port to work. The Dell system did not have any spare USB 2 ports nor any USB 3 so I was able to add a USB3 adapter and use this cable to get the bluetooth to work.

Works well, recognise for what it is - A permanent fixture to your motherboard - Fulfil today's need
I purchased this exact item and have bought two other different brands/sellers in the past. Each has worked, and fulfilled the purpose for what I needed, most recently to add ports in a bay device. Numerous comments note that the cable cannot easily be removed from the 3.0 USB header on the motherboard, this has been my experience with the two previous builds. Time will tell with this one. Recognise that once you install this, it will be highly likely that you will never be able to remove the adaptor cable from your motherboard header without damaging the cable or motherboard, and perhaps both. Does this really matter, in a few years you may have upgraded to a new motherboard and passed this on to your kids.Kindly note that I have not had any issues with the adaptor cable not working, or becoming a fire hazard.Recommended, one star knocked off for durability - the lack of reliability for removing the cable to be reused.

Conversion plugs are great!
I have one of those floppy disk bay openings on my computer tower and I use a multi media card reader their. On my MB it's a 3.0 USB pin. So I had to dummy down to the reader 2.0 speed. I had it for a few months scared to plug it in because looking at the wires the colors did not match up to the card reader wire colors. So I took a chance hoping I did not fry anything and plugged it in. Well it worked OK. (Phew!)

Works.
Plugged it in and it worked fine. I'm connecting the NZXT interal USB 2.0 hub to the Sabrent internal USB 3.0 hub and needed the full eight-pin connection to get all of the ports working. It required an extra USB 2.0 female-to-female cable, so ideally I'd have this cable but female connectors on both sides for this particular use case.

It works but barely
Not super satisfied but it was a leap of faith purchase

amazing product, if you searched for this just buy it!!
This was really useful on my z490 board that had 2 3.0 headers, and only needed one. But all the corsair lighting stuff needs so many usb headers. So this for sure saved the day!

I looked for one of these for years. This was exactly what I needed.
Used this to finally get use out of extra usb 2.0 front panel ports on a small HTPC that had only one USB2.0 and one USB3.0 motherboard port.
