Very convenient for fly tying!
After stumbling upon a video if Al Beatty tying humpy dry flies, I noticed he didn't use the normal scissors fly tiers generally used. This piqued my interest and lead me to find a number of articles and forum posts that said "Wiss" style scissors like these are preferable to normal scissors for production fly tiers. I've always been under the impression that if something is preferred by pros, it likely has benefits for the hobbiest; so, I bought these. To make a long story short, these work extremely well for tying flies. They have a pleasant heft in the hand and cut thread and other tying materials cleanly and easily. They are well worth the money you pay for them and will likely last for many years and hundreds of flies. The only improvement I would make to these scissors is to make the tips of the blades narrower to get around small feathers and fibers more easily. I chalk this up to them not being specifically designed for flies and fly tyers.

Sturdy
Very sharp, feels sturdy, fairly heavy.Would like a carrying case but I made one from leatherMine has a tiny notch on the blade so it drags a bit but no big deal

Hole is for ring finger rather than thumb
These seem to be well constructed and of good quality. Initially, I was disappointed, because I assumed that the grip hole was meant for the thumb. Like others, I thought it didn’t provide much leverage and thought I might end up returning the snips as a result. Fortunately, in looking around at similar products, I found one of a different brand that appeared to be made with essentially the same design. There, it was explained that the hole is for the ring finger. Once I tried mine in that manner, I became very satisfied with my purchase and thought they might be used equally well, either left handed or right handed. The only flaw I found is that there is a hole in the rubber cover (which looks brand new), as if the snips had been pushed in too forcefully. I may attempt to get them to replace the cover. In some reviews, people complained that their snips became stuck closed before very long. Two thoughts I had were that 1) perhaps their snips had been used to cut something that left a residue in the hinge area, which might need to be cleaned and oiled, or 2) possibly the snips could be adjusted, using one or both screws, and then perhaps oiled.

Sharp
Mine also came in a zip lock bag, dirty, and scuffed up cosmetically. The blades were fine though and sharp. They're solid, a little heavy, works very well and of good quality. After using these for a couple of months, they're quickly becoming one of my favorites. The only thing I'd change would be a better cap or way to keep them closed. The little rubber it came with is wore out and won't stay on anymore. This is not a huge deal and I still love them.
