Old controllers suck
Lets be honest, old controllers and gamepads are terrible, even the modern remakes leave a lot to be desired. I'm not sure why this thing isn't better known but it works great to get a proper new bluetooth controller connected to the MD. I already had an 8bitdo arcade stick and it works great. I had to break out the instructions to decrypt the heiroglyphics on the stick to pair it but once that's done, no problems at all. 10/10 would recommend.

Flawless
Charge it up, plug it in, sync and you're good to go.I love the little bit of subversion by playing with an 8bitdo SNES controller too.Naughty.

Introduces noise into the analogue audio signals.
Great to have wireless, but be warned...these wireless dongles introduce significant audio noise into the analogue signals. Will be great with a Mega SG, or something similar which is all digital, but on OG hardware these are noisy. I tried on a 3BP modified MD1 and a Geneis 3...both exhibited the exact same noise.

Great job
Wonderful being able to use a modern controller on a retro machine. Easy to configure, easy to install, easy to remove once done with.

Works well.
Bought this primarily for my to use my 8bitdo M30 on my Mega Drive II, and I'm generally pretty happy with it. I feel there's a few things that I ought to point out for potential purchasers-As with all of these products I've bought, I found the initial sync process a little finicky, but now they're paired, it's very reliablePairing the M30 with the receiver each time you turn the console on takes about 3-5 seconds. Only a minor inconvenience, but might become frustrating if you're frequently switching games on an Everdrive or big compilation cartridge.Turning off the console doesn't automatically turn off the controller like it would on a modern console. You'll have to turn the controller off manually (or wait for it to turn off by itself after a few minutes of inactivity). This needs to be done every time you switch off the console. If you turn the console off and on again while the controller is still synced, you'll need to pair them again before you play.I have an MSX2 with Mega Drive/Atari 2600-style controller ports. It works with standard Mega Drive controllers, so I was hoping to use the receiver on it. It doesn't work on it though. I suspect the MSX doesn't supply the same voltage to the controller ports that a Mega Drive does. If you're buying this for an old system like a Spectrum or an Atari, or maybe even a Mega Drive clone system, you might want to check specifications before ordering.Overlooking all that, it's been a treat. I've got a messy Mega Drive/Mega CD/32X set-up, and even removing just one cable from that equation is quite welcome. I've tested it with pinball games and fighters, and there doesn't appear to be any noticeable latency. I find the faff with pairing the controller to the receiver preferable to the faff of working with cables, but I don't think everyone necessarily will. You likely already have a fair idea of whether or not you'll like this thing.
