Jansal Valley Sliced Crystallized Ginger, 1 Pound

I love all Jansal Valley fruits! Fruit is nature's candy, but some dried fruits that I love for snacking and baking are a bit off in other brands. I've been trying for ages and been plagued by small package sizes, overpriced, underwhelming goods and limited choice. Jansal Valley has none of these problems. Always excellent products, pound or half pound sizes, great taste, texture... It has it all. Ginger is one of my favorites. I'm using it in both a REAL fruitcake, with actual dried fruit, and it's in my fruit bowl for lunch. Can't get enough.Side note here: If you like the Ginger, you'll adore the dates. Say goodbye to sad date shells. They aren't pitted, and that's a good thing. All it takes it a light squeeze to get the pit out and you have one date that's 4x the size of other brands.

I had attempted to cancel my order bc it was a little late for what I had planned for it. It was too late. However, I'm not disappointed! Very tender, sweet, and spicy candied ginger! I bought a pound, and it's a generous pound! Nice sized slices, and perfect looking too. For a little over 10.00 bucks! I am going to bake with it, but it's delicious to snack on! Please get yourself some.

I'm afraid my expectations were a bit too high .. maybe encouraged by some of the reviews that mentioned soft and moist ... For me I find none of that .... the ginger is ok ... but no better than the prepackaged little plastic bags you'd find at a supermarket ... mostly dry, mostly tough ... more hot than sweet ... I was hoping to find the kind of crystallized ginger I'd buy years ago at a NYC market - I think it might have been a corner specialized grocery in Soho .... melt in your mouth tender ... and more sweet than hot ... a treat I'd look forward to purchasing on my walk home .... this product is ok .... it was packaged well - I guess they addressed the leakage problem others complained about in shipping ... I'll use it but certainly won't purchase again .... for me not really what I was longing for ... guess I'll still be searching ...

What a fantastic find! I was looking for crystallized ginger to add to a fruit cake and this fit my price point. Never did I imagine that ginger could be so tender. I have bought other brands including Trader Joe's and from Aldie. But this is beautifully textured and sweetened. I doubt this will last until I make my fruit cake. Can't stop snacking on these delicious ginger slices. Highly highly recommend. Thank you for a fantastic product! Will definitely buy again.

These ginger slices are a little spicy but that’s fine for me. I use them for nausea when I have it. Most of the sugar that’s on them shakes off during shipment also so you really don’t end up getting all that sugar that’s on them.

I think I may have received a different product from the one others are raving about. The pieces are hard, not tender at all. They soften when chewed, and sugary-pleasant until the hot spice kicks in (and lingers), and along with that, an unpleasant bitterness. I know ginger is spicy, but since it wasn't described as such, I was surprised at how hot they are. I had high hopes for this product, because the garam masala I ordered from the same company is a great spice blend.I love spicy food. But there is absolutely no indication in the description that these have some real heat to them. This is something that should be added to the description. There are plenty of folks who would not enjoy that level of heat.Price was great, but that's it. I won't be ordering these again.

Crystalized ginger has been my go to for indigestion and nausea for years. This product is a good product. Tastes good and you get a larger amount for the price. I recommend this company and product.
